4th July Watermelon Giveaway

We had several of our members attend and serve watermelons at the 28th annual 4th of July parade held at Album Park sponsored by the El Paso Del Norte Lions The turnout was great and we had fun meeting and serving the public.

PEBBLE HILLS CLEANUP

LTNA held a cleanup on Saturday, on the street Pebble Hills which is where the Esperanza Acosta Moreno Library is located. The day was very successful with quite a few adults, teens, preteens and kids joining in. Totaling 14 adults/teens and 6 preteen/younger kids! Thanks to everyone who came and worked, you made a big difference! Look for pictures on our website, and clicking into "Neighborhood Happenings".

We need your input!

As you may already know, several months ago, our association was awarded $49,800 from the City of El Paso, Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP). LTNA submitted an application for receiving NIP funds this past January and was approved for receiving these monies which are to be directed (as per our request) to the development of the Salvador Rivas Park (around the library). This fall there is another opportunity to request additional monies from the NIP fund.

In our application we must state and describe how the monies will be used, if approved. The present option is to direct the monies toward further development of Salvador Rivas Park. For example, we could use the NIP monies for the construction of basketball courts.

However, you may have other ideas for projects which will improve our neighborhood.

Your input and ideas are important to all of us in Tierra del Este. Please send your ideas regarding projects for the NIP funds to Colleen Lewis: craftykid2006@gmail.com or to myself:

manuelykim@yahoo.es by August 15.

This will give us time to complete the application in a timely manner.

Sincerely,
Manuel Padilla, Vice-President LTNA
